Canned Commands
SUMMARY
This article will discuss canned commands how they are used, and how they can be stored and helpful to you.
Canned commands are used for you to insert links for emails & website URLs, push websites to your visitors, and include images inside of the chat window.

Types of Canned Commands
There are currently four types of canned commands.
URL - This inserts a website hyperline to the URL you specify.
(syntax example: url:http://www.phplivesupport.com/ )
Email - This inserts a hyperlink to email the address you specify.
(syntax example: email:info@osicodes.com )
Image - This inserts an image into the chat window for the visitor to see. It uses the image URL, therefore, the image must be uploaded to a website somewhere.
(syntax example: image:http://www.osicodes.com/web/phplive_web/pics/header.gif )
Push - This automatically opens the specified URL on the visitors computer. (Note: if they have a popup blocker turned on the new window may be blocked.)

Storing Canned Commands
Canned commands can be stored so that you can use them on the fly, while you are chatting with a visitor. To store your canned commands you will follow the following instructions.
- Login as an Operator (Do NOT login through WinAPP).
- Once you are logged in you will click the Canned Commands link towards the top center of your screen. It is located right above Launch Monitor Request Window and right below the Support Rating.
- You should now be on the Operators: Canned Command page. On this page you can enter in your canned command information and Submit to save.
Reference - This is what you want to name the Canned Command entry. (So if you are entering your email address you might name it something like "My Email")
Command - Here you will select the type of command you wish to use. Once you select the type the command prefix will be entered into the Message box.
Message - Finish filling out the syntax of your command.
Department - You can specify the command to be used for only a specific department or All departments.

- After you have saved the command it will now be displayed in the cannd command list.
- Continue on entering the rest of your canned commands and you can now begin
using them!

How to use Canned Commands
To use your stored canned commands you will access them from inside of the operator chat window. At the middle right side of the chat window there is a drop down menu for canned commands.

In addition to accessing the canned commands through the dropdown menu you can also just type the command in through your Operator chat window and send.

Global Department Canned Commands
Your administrators can setup global canned commands for each department. These global canned commands allow for all operators in a certain department to share certain canned commands.
Your administrators can add the canned commands by logging in as an admin and going to Manage Departments. In there they can select canned commands next to the corresponding department.
